Trackdyl — Guess the Album Cover in 6 Tries ===========================================

A blurry square. A smudge of color. Something about that shade of blue feels familiar — is that Duran Duran? Or Tears for Fears?

Welcome to Trackdyl, G33Z3R's daily album cover guessing game. One cover, six guesses, four decades of music. If you grew up flipping through record bins or studying cassette inserts with a flashlight, this one's for you.

A new puzzle drops every day at midnight. No app to download, no account to create — just show up and play.

How to Play Trackdyl

  1. You see a blurry album cover — it could be anything from 1960 to 1999.
  1. Guess the artist. Type your answer and lock it in.
  1. The cover sharpens a little with each guess, revealing more detail.
  1. You get six tries. Nail it on the first guess and you're a sharpshooter. Use all six and you still walked away smarter.
  1. Come back tomorrow — a brand new cover is waiting at midnight.

That's it. No sign-up. No paywall. Just you and four decades of album art.

Why Trackdyl Hits Different

This isn't a game about today's streaming charts. Trackdyl pulls from the vinyl bins, the cassette racks, and the CD towers of the 1960s through the 1990s — the albums that had real cover art, the kind you'd stare at on the bus ride home from the record store.

It rewards a different kind of music knowledge. Not "what's trending" but "what's that shade of pink on that one Fleetwood Mac album?" The colors, the fonts, the weird artistic choices labels made in 1974 — it all matters here.

And if you're competitive about it: Trackdyl tracks your streaks and awards badges for milestones. Solve it in one guess and earn Sharpshooter. Keep your streak alive for 30 days and you're Untouchable. Claim a screenname and your scores hit the weekly leaderboard.

Tips & Strategy

Look at the colors first. Even at maximum blur, the color palette tells you a lot. Bright neon? Probably mid-80s. Earth tones? Could be early 70s. Black and white with bold text? Think late-70s punk or new wave.

Check the layout. Band photo covers vs. illustrated covers vs. abstract art — each narrows the decade and genre.

Think about labels. Big labels had signature art direction. Motown, Atlantic, and Sub Pop covers each have a feel, even blurry.
