Crazy Eddie
1971–1989
“"His prices are INSANE!"”
Stores
The New York-area electronics chain whose manic radio and TV ads — a fast-talking pitchman screaming that the prices were INSANE — were as famous as the stores. Behind the counter it was one of the largest securities frauds of its era; the whole thing collapsed and was liquidated in 1989.
