Was it Cup O' Noodles or Cup Noodles?

The Cup Noodles Mandela effect.

🌀 What you remember

Cup O' Noodles.

📼 What the record says

Both. It was sold in the U.S. as Cup O' Noodles from 1973 until 1993, when Nissin renamed it Cup Noodles. This one really did change.

The case

Here's the control group. Gen X grew up with Cup O' Noodles, the styrofoam cup with the apostrophe, and then one day it was Cup Noodles and everyone assumed they'd misremembered.

They hadn't. Nissin dropped the O' in 1993 to match the product's name in the rest of the world. If you remember the apostrophe, your memory is fine. This is what a real change looks like next to the false ones.

Why our brains do this

It didn't glitch: the brand genuinely changed in 1993. The Mandela Effect only applies to the cases where the record never moved.
