What are the Discontinued Files?

A directory of the foods, drinks and fast-food items of the '70s, '80s and '90s that were taken off the market — each with the record (maker, years, the reason given, whether it came back), a bring-it-back vote, and a Memory Wall where people write about the last one they had.

Are any of these actually coming back?

Some already did, usually for a limited run: Crystal Pepsi, Surge, Ecto Cooler, Dunkaroos, French Toast Crunch, Oreo O's and 3D Doritos have all had revivals. We note every comeback in the file. The vote totals are the site's own data, not a petition to the companies — though companies do read this stuff.

Where do the facts come from?

Public references, mainly the Wikipedia article for each product, linked on every file. Where a date is disputed or fuzzy the file says 'around.' The stories are written by us; nothing is copied.

Can I add my own memory?

Yes. Every file has a Memory Wall. No account needed — write about the last time you had one, who you were with, where you bought it.
