Everything Gen X remembers, checked against the record, then handed back to you for the vote and the story.

The Files are the site's reference rooms: the Mandela Effect cases, the snacks they took away, the toys, the arcade cabinets, the jingles, the slang, the theme songs and what things cost. Each file is built the same way. One side is the record, with the source linked. The other side is yours: one vote, and a Memory Wall where you tell us where you were.

How a file works

Part 1

The record

Who made it, when, what happened to it, with the public source linked. We write the prose and cite instead of copying. No lyrics, no logos, no packaging; photos only where the license allows, with credit.

Part 2

The vote

One question per room, two answers, live tallies. Once a file has enough votes it climbs its room's board: most misremembered, most wanted back, most wanted and never got.

Part 3

The wall

Where you were, who you were with, what it cost, the year it didn't come. No account needed. Every memory written here also joins the site-wide Memory Wall.

What are the G33Z3R Files?
A set of curated Gen X nostalgia directories, 230 files across 8 rooms so far: the Mandela Effect cases, the discontinued snacks, the toys, the arcade cabinets, the commercial jingles, the slang, the TV theme songs and what things cost by year. Every file has the same three parts: the record, a vote, and a Memory Wall.
What's "the record"?
The grounded half of each file: who made it, when, what happened to it, with the public source linked on the page. We write the prose ourselves and cite rather than copy. Where a date is fuzzy we say "around." We never reproduce lyrics, logos or packaging; photos come from Wikimedia Commons under licenses that allow it, with credit.
What's the vote?
One question per room, two answers. Which version do you remember? Bring it back or let it rest? Did you have one or only want one? Can you still sing it? Did you actually say it? The tallies are live and each room ranks its files by them once there are enough votes.
Can I add my own memory?
Yes, on every file, no account needed. The Memory Wall is the point: where you were, who you were with, the Christmas you got it or the year you didn't. Memories here also show up on the site-wide Memory Wall.
Do the Files claim anything changed?
No. The Glitch Files in particular never claim a timeline shifted. A few records genuinely did change (a rebrand, a renamed product) and those are flagged as such; the rest is memory doing what memory does, and the stories of where you were when you found out.
