The '90s ended with Doritos going three-dimensional: hollow, puffy chips that crunched differently and came in a canister you could hold like a drink. The ads had Ali Landry and the Super Bowl; the chip had a texture nobody has quite reproduced.
They disappeared in the mid-2000s and became a standard entry on every "snacks we miss" list until Frito-Lay brought them back as 3D Crunch in 2020. Fans say the new ones are close but flatter.
