Gum you poured. The Bubble Jug held bright pink granules that felt like sugar and, after a few seconds of chewing, became a wad of Hubba Bubba. Every kid tried to pour the whole jug in at once.
It faded out around the turn of the millennium and reappeared later in nostalgia candy lines. The original jug shape is the part people describe: the little handle, the flip cap.
