Children's Palace

1960–1992

The toy store shaped like a castle.

You walked in through a giant pink-and-blue castle facade, complete with turrets — the building itself was the advertisement. Along with its sister chain Child World, it was one of the big toy superstores that battled Toys "R" Us through the '80s. Both folded when the parent company went bankrupt in 1992.
