Steak and Ale

1966–2008

The salad bar and the dim wood booths.

The dim, Tudor-styled steakhouse of dark-wood booths and faux-medieval decor, an early pioneer of the all-you-can-eat salad bar and the sit-down steak dinner a family could actually afford. It was where a lot of Gen-X kids first ate a "fancy" dinner out. It shut down alongside its sibling chain Bennigan's in the same 2008 bankruptcy.
