Amoeba by Adolescents — cover art

With a sound that rattles the walls and a spirit that screams rebellion, Adolescents have been a cornerstone of American hardcore punk since their inception in Fullerton, California. Pioneers of the Orange County scene, they made their mark alongside legendary acts like Agent Orange and Social Distortion, delivering raw energy through tracks like “Amoeba,” “Kids of the Black Hole,” and “L.A. Girl.” The band has seen various members come and go, but founding bassist Steve Soto remained a constant force until his passing in 2018, while frontman Tony Cadena has been a familiar voice throughout their evolution. With an infectious blend of grit and melody, Adolescents continue to embody the restless spirit of youth, reminding us all of the power of punk to provoke and inspire.
