Book of Love is an American new wave band that emerged in 1983, originally from Philadelphia and later based in New York City. Fronted by vocalist Susan Ottaviano, the group features keyboardists Ted Ottaviano, Lauren Roselli, and Jade Lee. Their sound is marked by infectious synth melodies and thoughtful lyrics that challenge norms surrounding sexual orientation and gender roles. The band first gained attention as the opener for Depeche Mode's tours, showcasing tracks like “I Touch Roses,” “Boy,” “Pretty Boys and Pretty Girls,” and “You Make Me Feel so Good.” With their blend of catchy hooks and introspective themes, they carved a unique spot in the '80s music landscape.
