The most durable word on this list. Skaters clipped radical to rad, the Turtles said it on TV every afternoon, and by 1986 it meant good everywhere from Anaheim to Ohio.

It's the '80s word people use today when they want to sound like they're kidding, and the one older Gen X still says without irony about a guitar solo.
