The Story
Buckner & Garcia is a pop music duo from the United States, featuring Jerry Buckner and Gary Garcia. Active since 1980, they are best known for their novelty hit "Pac Man Fever," which captures the quirky spirit of the early video game craze. Before this, they dabbled in music as Animal Jack, recording "Gotta Hear the Beat" in 1972. They also ventured into holiday tunes with "Merry Christmas in the NFL," credited to a fictional group. Their playful approach to pop music, mixing humor with catchy melodies, reflects the lighthearted side of the era’s music scene. Buckner & Garcia remind us that sometimes, music is all about fun and games.
