The Story
Das EFX is an East Coast hip-hop duo from the United States, featuring emcees Dray and Skoob. Their name cleverly combines "Dray and Skoob" with "effects," hinting at the unique lyrical style they brought to the genre. Known for their rapid-fire delivery and stream-of-consciousness rhymes, they infused their tracks with playful slang and inventive wordplay. Their close ties with EPMD's Hit Squad helped elevate their profile in the early '90s. With tracks like "They Want EFX," they showcased a sound that blended intricate verses with an array of pop culture references, making them a standout act in the hip-hop scene. Their approach left a notable imprint on the lyrical landscape that still echoes today.
