The Story
Gene Loves Jezebel is a British band known for their blend of alternative rock, new wave, and gothic rock. At the helm are twin brothers Michael and Jay Aston, who brought a unique sound to the music scene starting in the early '80s. Their early work featured moody melodies and introspective lyrics, with standout tracks like "Desire" and "Desire (Come And Get It)" showcasing their knack for catchy hooks. The band gained traction with their 1983 debut album, Promise, and continued to evolve through the mid-'80s with hits that captured listeners' hearts. Their evolution eventually led to two separate versions of Gene Loves Jezebel, but the music remains a nostalgic touchstone for fans of the era.
