Rainbow is a hard rock band from the United Kingdom that has been active since 1975. Founded by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, they initially included several members from the American group Elf, with Ronnie James Dio as the frontman. After their debut, Blackmore restructured the lineup, bringing in drummer Cozy Powell, bassist Jimmy Bain, and keyboardist Tony Carey for the band’s acclaimed second album. Rainbow is known for their blend of traditional heavy metal and neo-classical metal, highlighted in tracks like "Man on the Silver Mountain" and "Stargazer."
