The Story
The Exploited is a hardcore punk band from the UK, active since 1979 and fronted by Wattie Buchan. Emerging from Edinburgh, they quickly became known for their raw sound and politically charged lyrics. With an unmistakable street punk edge, they released their debut EP, "Army Life," and the seminal album "Punk's Not Dead," which solidified their place in the punk scene. Throughout the 1980s, they garnered a dedicated following among the working-class punk and skinhead crowds. As they evolved, their sound took on a crossover thrash style, particularly evident in their later work. The Exploited remains a fierce voice in punk, echoing the defiance and energy of their roots.
