The Tubes is a hard rock and punk rock band from the United States, active since 1973. Known for their outrageous stage shows and eclectic style, they hit a notable stride with their self-titled debut album in the mid-'70s. The catchy single "She's a Beauty" became a staple on early MTV, showcasing their knack for blending humor and sharp social commentary into memorable tunes. Their distinctive sound often incorporated theatrical elements, and they even made an appearance in the film "Xanadu," where they performed the rock segment of "Dancin'." With Vince Welnick and Michele Gray among their members, The Tubes carved out a unique space in the rock scene that still echoes today.
