What is Retro Road?

Retro Road is a free choose-your-path story game about growing up in the '80s and '90s — an Oregon Trail-style journey through adolescence instead of the frontier. You make the calls at the mall, the school dance, the first job and the long summer, and every choice pulls a real song into the soundtrack of your run.

The game itself ages with you: it boots as a green-screen home computer, then morphs through 8-bit, 16-bit and CD-ROM looks as the years roll on. Your progress saves in your browser, so play it in sittings.

How to play

1Start a run and pick your setup — the year, your hometown vibe, and your social lane set the scene.
