Mean Mr. Mustard's
1979–1998
“AC/DC-Cult Sunday nights and the black-clad crowd.”
Campus Bars · High St · OSU · 1580 N. High St.
The one-of-a-kind High Street live-music joint and late-night hangout that opened in 1979 — Sundays meant the AC/DC-Cult night, a floor of black-clad regulars, and British post-punk blaring till close. It's the spot most people remember for the buckets of beer, too: you'd dip your plastic cup straight into the shared bucket. For countless OSU students it WAS the campus. It closed in the late 1990s and the building was later torn down.
Did you hang out at Mean Mr. Mustard's? What do you remember?
The drive, the dance, the heartbreak, the summer. Add a memory of Mean Mr. Mustard's.
