Pavement is an alternative rock band from the United States that kicked off their musical journey in 1989. Centered around the distinctive vocals and guitar work of Stephen Malkmus, the band initially took a low-key approach, avoiding the spotlight while still making waves in the underground scene with tracks like "Cut Your Hair" and "Gold Soundz." Over their decade-long career, they released five albums and ten EPs, gradually refining their sound from a lo-fi aesthetic to a more polished approach. Though they disbanded in 1999 amid some tensions, their influence endures, and they reunited for a well-received tour in 2010, bringing their quirky charm back to the stage.
