Low to the ground, a giant plastic front wheel, and a sound on the sidewalk like a truck. The Big Wheel was the first vehicle most Gen X kids drove, and the hand brake existed for one purpose: the skid.
The front wheel wore flat on one side, the seat cracked, and it was ridden anyway until the pedals came off. Danny rode one through the Overlook Hotel in The Shining, which is the most famous Big Wheel footage there is.
