The file

The same company that made Teddy Ruxpin made a gun. Lazer Tag turned the backyard into a battlefield: the StarLyte pistol, the StarSensor on your chest, and the sound of it registering a hit from across the yard at dusk.

It was the Christmas toy of 1986 and it took the company down with it: Worlds of Wonder overproduced, the fad cooled, and the firm was bankrupt by 1988. The gear still works if the batteries do.
