A plastic compact, the size of a powder case, that opened into a whole house with a one-inch doll who fit in the rooms. The original Polly was tiny enough to be lost in a sofa and precious enough to be searched for.
Mattel bought the brand in 1998 and made her bigger, which everyone who had the originals considers the wrong call. The little Bluebird compacts are the ones collectors want.
