1967

The year in music, movies, TV, fads & memories

In 1967, “To Sir With Love” by Lulu topped the Billboard year-end Hot 100 and Sgt. Pepper's by The Beatles and The Doors by The Doors were on every turntable. The Graduate, Bonnie and Clyde and The Jungle Book were in theaters, and The Carol Burnett Show, Ironside and The Smothers Brothers were on TV.

The headlines: First Super Bowl played. New that year: First handheld calculator prototype. Fads of the year: Hippie / flower power and Psychedelia. Gas was 33¢ a gallon and a stamp was 5¢.
