🎧 Ask the DJ about Percy FaithThe Story
Percy Faith was a Canadian-American bandleader and orchestrator known for his lush easy listening compositions. He made his mark with rich arrangements that transformed instrumental ballads and Christmas classics into soothing soundscapes. Through his work on "Theme from 'A Summer Place'," Faith popularized the easy listening genre, offering an alternative to the brass-heavy sounds of the 1940s. His innovative orchestration techniques, particularly his use of expansive string sections, brought a softness to the music that resonated with audiences. Faith's contributions to the Columbia Records catalog made him a staple of mid-century American music, inviting listeners to unwind and soak in the melodies of a simpler time.
