The Story
With a sound that perfectly marries synth-pop and alternative rock, Shakespears Sister emerged from the UK scene in 1988, captivating listeners with their unique blend of styles. Initially the solo venture of Siobhan Fahey—whose roots trace back to Bananarama—the act soon expanded to include the dynamic Marcella Detroit. Together, they crafted a mesmerizing catalog, highlighted by the hauntingly beautiful "Stay," a track that became an anthem for the ages. After a few years, Detroit departed, leaving Fahey to steer the ship solo until the project took a hiatus in the mid-'90s. Fast forward to 2009, and Fahey reignited the Shakespears Sister flame. Their recent reunion brought new music and a tour, reminding us all why this duo remains etched in our musical hearts.
