The Story
Soul Survivors is an American rhythm and blues group from Philadelphia, featuring Richie and Charlie Ingui alongside Kenny Jeremiah. They made a significant mark with their hit single "Expressway to Your Heart," which showcased the emerging Philadelphia soul sound crafted by songwriters and producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. With smooth harmonies and a groove that encapsulated the soul vibe of the '60s, their music offered a fresh take on love and longing. While they may not have had an extensive catalog, "Expressway to Your Heart" remains a classic track that still finds its way onto playlists, reminding listeners of the soulful heart of the era.
