The Story
T. Rex, a British band from the UK, carved their niche in psychedelic and folk rock before pivoting to electric rock. Led by the charismatic Marc Bolan, they originally took a more acoustic route under the name Tyrannosaurus Rex. With their self-titled album, they embraced a glam rock sound that would define a movement, most notably with their hit “Bang a Gong (Get It On).” This evolution showcased Bolan's flair for catchy melodies and flamboyant style, helping to set the stage for the glam rock era. T. Rex's mix of rock and poetic lyricism remains a cornerstone for fans who still revel in Bolan's bold, shimmering vision.
