The Easybeats were an Australian rock band originating from Sydney, active since 1964, known for their blend of rock, rock and roll, beat music, and psychedelic rock. Their standout single, "Friday On My Mind," is often cited as the first Australian rock song to make waves internationally, placing them squarely in the spotlight. Unlike many of their contemporaries, they boldly showcased original material, with their debut album, "Easy," being among the first Australian rock records filled exclusively with original songs. Their sound combined catchy melodies with a raw energy that captured the spirit of the times, making them one of the most recognized acts to emerge from Down Under during the 60s.
