The Story
The Fireballs were an American rock and roll group known for their upbeat sound, active since 1957. Originating from the United States, they made a name for themselves with catchy tunes like “Bottle of Wine.” The band, at times referred to as Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs, featured members George Tomsco, Chuck Tharp, Stan Lark, Eric Budd, and Dan Trammell. Beyond their own recordings, they served as versatile studio musicians at Norman Petty Recording Studios, contributing to a variety of projects alongside artists such as Carolyn Hester and Arthur Alexander. Their blend of rock and roll with elements of pop left a lasting impression on the music scene of the late '50s and early '60s.
