The Honeycombs were a British pop music group from north London, active since 1963. They made a splash with their hit "Have I the Right," showcasing a sound that blended catchy melodies with a hint of rock edge. Notably, Honey Lantree held down the drums, making her one of the few prominent female drummers in a male-dominated scene at the time. Despite their initial success, the band struggled to reproduce that magic in subsequent releases and ultimately disbanded by 1967. Their brief but impactful time in the spotlight reminds us of the playful experimentation of the '60s, where every note felt fresh and alive.
