The roomy campus bar at 1576 N. High — a big dance floor with mirrors on the ceiling, a 50-cent cover, and a DJ swinging from progressive to Top 40. It ran through a string of names over the years (the Mine Shaft, the New Underground) before fading with the rest of that stretch of High Street in the 1990s.
