In 1996, “Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)” by Los del Río topped the Billboard year-end Hot 100 and The Score by Fugees and Mellon Collie by Smashing Pumpkins were on every turntable. Independence Day, Scream and Jerry Maguire were in theaters, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, 3rd Rock from the Sun and Everybody Loves Raymond were on TV.
