The Story
Guided By Voices is an indie rock band from the United States, known for their lo-fi sound and prolific output since 1983. Fronted by the ever-present Robert Pollard, the group has seen a range of members over the years, including Mitch Mitchell, Doug Gillard, Mark Shue, Bobby Bare, Jr., and Kevin March. With a catalog that features gems like “Game of Pricks,” their music blends catchy melodies with a raw, DIY aesthetic that captures the spirit of the underground scene. Their approach to songwriting often eschews conventional structures, favoring brevity and experimentation, which has made them a unique voice in the indie landscape. Guided By Voices remains a staple for those who appreciate the quirks and charm of lo-fi rock.
