The Story
Mad Season is an alternative rock band from the United States, emerging from the grunge scene in 1994. Fronted by Layne Staley of Alice in Chains, the group also featured Mike McCready on guitar, Barrett Martin on drums, and John Baker Saunders on bass. They released a singular album titled Above, showcasing a haunting blend of melancholy and grit. The standout track "River of Deceit" captured listeners with its introspective lyrics and moody instrumentation, while "Wake Up" further solidified their distinctive sound. Though their time together was brief, Mad Season carved out a space in the '90s rock landscape that still echoes in the hearts of fans today.
