The Story
Screaming Trees was an American rock band from Ellensburg, Washington, known for their blend of alternative rock, grunge, and neo-psychedelia. With Mark Lanegan's distinctive vocals leading the charge, they carved out a sound that melded hard rock grit with psychedelic flair. The group gained traction through their association with influential labels like SST Records, Epic Records, and Sub Pop. Tracks like "Nearly Lost You" and "Dollar Bill" showcase their knack for catchy yet complex melodies layered with raw emotion. As one of the early pioneers of the grunge movement, Screaming Trees left an indelible footprint on the music scene, resonating with fans long after their heyday.
